Unshaken
Stay Rooted in Confidence, Even When Others Are Shaken by Your Shine
You’re celebrating a recent win or success. You’re happy and excited!
But then… the energy shifts. A comment. A look. That subtle undercurrent of someone else’s discomfort trying to rattle your excitement.
My advice: Don’t let someone else’s insecurity make you question your confidence.
After sharing a recent success, someone told me, “ Why are you always doing so much?” It shook me for a moment since it was someone who I felt was close to me. It made me pause for a moment. Was I supposed to dim my light for this person?
The answer is “Absolutely not!”
Not everyone will understand your growth, your shine, or your standards. And that’s okay. You weren’t meant to shrink for the comfort of others.
Often, when someone questions your confidence or ambition or tries to downplay your success, it has nothing to do with you and everything to do with how they feel about themselves.
You may hear:
“You’ve changed.”
“You’re doing too much.”
“You think you’re better than me?”
But here’s a powerful reframe:
Growth requires change.
Excellence isn’t doing the bare minimum.
And confidence is not superiority or cockiness—it’s alignment.
Confidence is What Happens When You Stop Shrinking
When you’re rooted in purpose, when you’ve done the internal work, you don’t need to over-explain or over-prove. Confidence isn’t loud. It’s steady. It’s a quiet knowing that says, you don’t need to shrink for anyone.
Confidence Check-In
Take a moment to ask yourself:
Who am I dimming my light for?
In what spaces do I feel the need to shrink?
Where do I need to hold steady and own my worth?
So celebrate your success with grace and power. Let your presence speak for itself.
Be rooted. Be radiant. Be unshaken.
